Warning: This is just hack. These instructions are artlessly a adviser for how I alone managed to fix this annoyance. Use at your own risk.

First off, you may charge to accredit the "Source code" repository. To do this in Ubuntu, columnist the Super/Windows key and blazon "Source". Open the "Software Sources" appliance from the results. Check the box afore "Source code", again bang close.
Open Terminal (Press Ctrl+Alt+T) and archetype the afterward commands in the Terminal:

  • mkdir ~/Desktop/nautilus-mod
  • cd ~/Desktop/nautilus-mod
  • sudo apt-get update
  • apt-get antecedent nautilus
  • sudo apt-get build-dep nautilus
  • cd ~/Desktop/nautilus-mod/nautilus-3*
  • gedit src/nautilus-toolbar.c
Now, annal down to band 132 or do a "find" for
"gtk_toolbar_insert (GTK_TOOLBAR (self->priv->toolbar), item, 0)" and change the "0" to a "2". So change the aboriginal band from:
gtk_toolbar_insert (GTK_TOOLBAR (self->priv->toolbar), item, 0);
To:
gtk_toolbar_insert (GTK_TOOLBAR (self->priv->toolbar), item, 2);

When you're done, bang save and abutting Gedit.
Now Aback in Terminal, run the following:

  • ./configure --prefix=/usr
  • make
  • sudo killall nautilus
  • sudo accomplish install

At this point, I would in fact acclaim logging out and aback in or just restarting.
To disengage the changes and backslide aback to banal Nautilus, you can either change the "2" aback to a "0", re-make and re-install, or you can artlessly run:
